Exclusive Livingstone Island
Livingstone Island is a 10 minute riverboat tour from your hotel and is located in the middle of the Zambezi River, on the edge of the Victoria Falls, where the water thunders down the 100 meter drop. It is here that Dr Livingstone first looked over the edge of the falls into the gorge below, and wrote: 'scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight'.
The island is accessed by an 8 seater launch. Due to its unique nature, only 10 guests may visit and enjoy a choice of 4 island safaris, restricting this very exclusive island to only 40 visitors per day. For those who can afford this 5-star plus product, we highly recommend advanced reservations. Access to this unique island is seasonal and depends entirely on the water flow in the Zambezi River. It could very well be closed from February to mid-June.

Experience the spellbinding combination of the mighty Zambezi River and the extravagance and gracious hospitality of the African Queen riverboat cruise. Drive down the Royal Mile to the marina and board the vessel at the same spot where King George embarked in 1947. The twin-deck, 120 seater African Queen is stylish and beautifully handcrafted, with two bars decorated in period wicker furniture and steamer chairs. It is the epitome of a classic Zambezi cruise experience.
There are several cruises to choose from. Start your day with our refreshing mid-morning cruise or a lazy lunchtime glide along the Zambezi. Watch the sunset; hear the cry of a distant Fish Eagle on the mighty Zambezi River on our spectacular and popular sunset cruise. The upper Zambezi is also home to 15 species of Bream, including the Pink Happy, Three-spot Bream and the Nembwe as well as Yellow Fish, Barbel, Bottlenose, Squeaker and Labeo. In total there are over 75 species of fish lurking in these waters. Angling in this part of the world consists of fly-fishing, spinning and bait-fishing. |
