Sekoma Island in Zambia is easily accessible via Livingstone and Kasane. The lodge is located on the Zambezi River and Mambova Rapids, transfers can be arranged by boat and vehicle.
This area is well known for its excellent Tiger fishing but also for species such as Bream, mostly Nembwe, Thinface and Humpback also Redbreast and Three Spot Tilapia, Pink Happy as well as Sharptoothed Catfish and African Pike.
For the protection and preservation of this wonderful habitat and environment Sekoma Island operates a strict catch and release policy. The best time of year for fishing is once the floods have receded usually from late May right through to March in the following year at the advent of the floods.
Directions to Sekoma Island
For guests arriving from elsewhere in Zambia, there is a secure area for parking at Mambova, from where guests will be transferred by boat to the lodge. Scheduled flights come in regularly to Livingstone, Zambia or Kasane in Botswana. Transfers by car from Livingstone to Mambova are on a request basis.
Guests arriving in Botswana at Kasane will be met at immigration and transferred to the lodge by boat. There is also secure parking available at the lodges office in Kasane.
