Sindabezi Island Camp offers Zambia accommodation to only 10 people, in 5 thatched cottages dotted around the shores of the island. The cottages are similar in design to the Tongabezi houses, with an open front facing onto the river. This unique design allows you to encounter up close all the sights and sounds of the river and the creatures that live in and around it.
Each chalet has its own unique, private river view and every amenity you could wish for including a sundeck, outside heated shower, canopied bed and 'loo with a view'. At night, you will fall asleep in the glow of a hurricane lamp and be awoken by magnificent sunrises over the flood plains of the river.
Each open fronted private chalet brings guests closer to nature as the chalets provide for undisturbed views of the area. The chalets are equipped with every amenity guests could wish for. The bathrooms have flushing toilets and you can enjoy a hot shower.
There is no electricity, but at night the glow of the lamps or the flicker of a candle will provide a certain ambience to the atmosphere. Sindabezi Island Camp boasts state-of-the-art solar panelling set amidst the thatch. This means that all chalets enjoy hot water and bedside lighting, without forsaking the traditional camp atmosphere.
A Zambezi sunset will keep guests enthralled as they relax in the lounge area with a sundowner. The island is fully staffed and guides will captivate guests with old bush tales around the campfire.
